Artist's Statement…
From my early teens, I’ve been a admirer and collector
of stones. After an inspiring trip to Ecuador, this passion
led me to choose art as my full time occupation instead of returning
to University of Washington.
Lynn Shue, owner/director Village Galleries…
I first met Shauna and saw her unique hand fabricated art jewelry
shortly after her arrival on Maui in 1992. Her designs stood
out as orginal art I would be proud to carry in my galleries.
2008 celebrates 16 years of proudly representing this talented
Upcountry artist.
Today, Shauna’s greatest passions in life are her two
daughters, Tara and Kiana, her art and horses. She is currently
working on some new designs inspired by her late mother’s
horse, Anovar, who recently arrived on Maui from St. Croix.
“Horses impart a magical strength and seem to know when
you need an extra dose of encouragement. I hope to bring this
magic to all who wear my new “Anovar” designs.”
Her new works also feature the theme of “Sunrise on Maui”,
“Jazzed on Maui” and “Maui Light-Hearted”
and “Maui Big Water”. Shauna says new designs come
to mind daily, so it’s always a delight to stop by and
see what’s new.
Shuana is often “guest artist” with Village Galleries,
