Painter and sculptor
Caleb O’Connor was
born in Hawaii. He was raised on a farm on the island of
Maui where he learned an appreciation for nature and independent
thought. At 17 Caleb O’Connor attended the Maryland
Institute College of Art in Baltimore city. During his junior
year Caleb had his first major gallery exposition in Washington
D.C. at Gallery K in DuPont Circle. Caleb graduated with
a BFA and has shown extensively nationally and internationally.
He taught at college level at the Delaware College of
Art and Design for one year, and then received a Fulbright Grant
to study in Italy in 2002-2003. In Italy he learned the art of
Marble carving, bronze casting, and wine drinking in the city
of Pietrasanta.
Recently, Caleb ( with the major part of work done by
his significant other) became a father. Having a son has
only increased his zeal for life which is currently reflected
in much of his recent work.
