Wayne N. Omura is a Maui self-taught wood lathe artist. Wayne began bowl turning in the early 1980’s. Norfolk Island Pine and Cook Pine are his favorite local woods to work with. Other sustainably harvested trees such as Koa, Milo, Pheasant, and Kamani are also used. The natural beauty and grain pattern is featured in every creation, insuring that no two pieces are alike.

Wayne’s work has been in juried exhibitions including Art Maui, Hawaii Craftsman, Sho Chiku Bai and Hui Noeau. He is a 4 time recipient of the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts Purchase award.

We look forward to your visit to Village Galleries in Lahaina and Kapalua to view our current selection of Wayne’s amazing hand-turned bowls.
